"One day" sounds almost too good to be true the first time you hear it — especially if you've heard horror stories about renovations that drag on for weeks. Here's an honest look at what actually happens on installation day, so there are no surprises.
Before installation day: the prep work
The one-day install is possible because the real planning happens beforehand — during your free consultation, we measure your space, help you choose materials and features, and order everything ahead of time. By the time our crew arrives, there's no guesswork left to do on-site.
Morning: protection and demo
Our crew arrives, protects your floors and hallways leading to the bathroom, and carefully removes the old tub or shower. This is usually the messiest part of the day, and it's handled with drop cloths and careful cleanup as they go — not left for you to deal with.
Midday: the new install goes in
With the old unit out, the crew installs your new shower base, wall panels, and any fixtures, grab bars, or seating you chose. Because everything was measured and ordered in advance, this part moves efficiently rather than being figured out on the fly.
Afternoon: finishing touches and walkthrough
Plumbing connections, trim work, and a final check make sure everything is watertight and working properly. Before the crew leaves, they walk you through the new space, answer any questions, and make sure you're comfortable using everything.
End of day: clean up and enjoy
The crew cleans up thoroughly — protective coverings removed, debris hauled away, hallways back to normal — so you're not left with a construction mess to deal with on your own. In many cases, your new shower is ready to use that same evening.
Is every project really one day?
Most standard tub-to-shower and shower-to-shower conversions are. Larger or more complex projects, or ones where unexpected issues are found behind the old walls, may take a bit longer — but you'll always know the timeline upfront, in writing, before work begins.
